National authorities may also specify additional standards, such as fire protection regulations, construction regulations, health regulations, and labor protection regulations.

It is significant to highlight that heating units intended for industrial usage or for use in locations with unique characteristics, such as corrosive or explosive atmospheres, are exempt from this specification. Additionally, it does not include heated carpets, heating mats, or other flexible heating items like blankets, pads, garments, and the like. Furthermore, this standard does not apply to flexible sheet heating elements found in other appliances.
