AS/NZS 60335.2.69:2017 (IEC TEXT) is a safety standard that focuses on electrical motor-operated vacuum cleaners, including back-pack vacuum cleaners and dust extractors, used for commercial purposes. It covers both wet suction, dry suction, and wet and dry suction vacuum cleaners. The standard includes guidelines for indoor and outdoor use with or without attachments, and also addresses vacuum cleaners with a blowing or inflating function.
Additionally, the standard addresses the safety requirements for centrally-sited vacuum cleaners, excluding the installation of the system. It is important to note that the 2017 edition of the standard will replace the previous edition, AS/NZS 60335.2.69:2012, on 30 June 2020. This standard incorporates national modifications and includes the text of IEC 60335-2-69, Ed 5:2016.
