A standard called AS/NZS 62115:2008 is concerned with the security of electric toys. These are toys with at least one electrically powered feature. Toys with functionalities akin to those of adult appliances or installations, construction sets, experimental sets, video toys with screens and activation devices like joysticks or keyboards, and functional toys are all included in the standard. Separate screens with a rated voltage higher than 24 V should be noted as not being part of the toy. A doll's house with an interior lamp is an example of a toy that uses electricity for a secondary purpose that is covered by this standard. The main objective of AS/NZS 62115:2008 is to guarantee children's safety when using these electric toys.
