ASME PCC-2-2018 standard provides methods for repairing equipment, pipes, pipelines, and associated ancillary equipment within the scope of ASME Pressure Technology Codes and Standards after they have been placed in service. The standard covers temporary or permanent methods of repair that include design, fabrication, examination, and testing practices. The repair methods discussed in the standard are performed when deemed necessary based on relevant inspection and flaw assessment conducted previously. However, inspection and flaw evaluation methods are not covered in this Standard but are addressed in other post-construction codes and standards. The standard is divided into five parts that cover the scope, organization, and intent; weld-based repair procedures; mechanical repairs; non-metallic means, such as liners, wraps, and bonding; and examination and testing methods and techniques. The standard only provides technical procedures and information, and administrative or policy requirements are outside its scope.
