Standard EN SampleStandard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices
Also Known As:
A standard practice known as ASTM F2291-21 establishes requirements for the design of amusement rides and devices as well as significant alterations to already-existing rides and devices. This procedure aims to give designers, engineers, manufacturers, owners, and operators in the amusement ride business standards and references.
The standard is applicable to amusement rides, equipment, and significant modifications created after the publication's effective date. There are several situations, nevertheless, where this principle does not apply. Patron-directed rides, such as go-karts and bumper cars, artificial climbing walls, air-supported structures, dry slides, coin-operated rides, water-based rides and devices involving immersion in water, amusement rides and devices with specific design criteria covered by other ASTM standards, sections of rides unaffected by major modifications, and upgrades to electrical components as long as the original design and safety criteria are maintained are some examples of these exceptions.
An annex to the practice adds mandatory extra details such as justifications, historical context, interpretations, illustrations, and commentary to help users better comprehend and apply the criteria. Additionally, there is an appendix that offers optional information for the same purpose.
