Standard EN SampleChild Care Articles - Drinking Equipment - Safety Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
A standard known as BS EN 14350:2020 outlines the safety criteria and testing procedures for drinking apparatus designed for infants and toddlers between the ages of 0 and 48 months. The standard is applicable to drinking accessories that go with both single-use and reusable containers. Additionally, it covers ready-to-use and single-use feeding teats.
The standard excludes requirements for drinking vessels made of ceramic or bags meant solely for storage, as well as cleaning requirements for ready-to-use and single-use goods. The criteria also exclude cleft lip and palate items as well as those created for specialized clinical medical uses. The document expressly excludes soothers and feeding attachments that are attached to drinking apparatus.
Cutlery and other feeding utensils are covered by EN 14372, while EN 1400 covers the requirements and test procedures for soothers. However, it is advised to take into account the relevant criteria wherever possible for drinking equipment that is not covered by this standard.
