Standard EN SampleBS EN 131-2+A2/COR1 Ladders. Part 2: Requirements, testing, marking
Also Known As:
The general design characteristics, specifications, and test procedures for portable ladders are laid out in the BS EN 131-2:2010+A2:2017 standard. Step stools and ladders made for professional use, such as mobile ladders, roof ladders, and ladders used by fire departments, are exempt from this criterion. As there are different standards for certain uses (such as EN 61478 for electrical systems and installations and EN 50528 for insulating ladders for low-voltage electrical installations), it also does not apply to ladders used for work on or near live electrical systems or installations.
It is significant to remember that this European Standard is meant to be used alongside EN 131-1. EN 131-4 is the standard for single or multiple hinge joint ladders; EN 131-6 is the standard for telescopic ladders; and EN 131-7 is the standard for transportable ladders with a platform.
