Standard EN SampleRoller Sports Equipment: Inline-Skates - Safety Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
For inline skates, the BS EN 13843:2009 standard specifies safety criteria and test procedures. These specifications were created primarily for inline skates used by people weighing between 20 kg and 100 kg. The goal of this standard is to reduce the possibility of accidents involving the skater and other people when they are being used as intended.
Since these are considered toys and are not covered by this European Standard, inline skates made for riders weighing less than 20 kg are not covered by it. Additionally, this standard does not apply to roller skates that comply with EN 13899.
It is significant to note that this standard does not cover orthopedic criteria such as lateral support. This is due to the fact that a standard cannot fully address these criteria because they differ for every wearer.
