The safety standards for domestically used children's cots and foldable cots are outlined in the BS EN 716-1:2017 standard. It especially refers to cots with interior lengths between 900 mm and 1,400 mm.
The specification is applicable to ready-to-use, fully assembled cots. However, extra conditions might need to be met if a cot can be converted into other products, including changing tables or playpens. It's vital to note that carrycots, cribs, and cradles are not covered by this standard because distinct European standards exist for them.
