Standard EN SampleHousehold and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-47: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Boiling Pans
Also Known As:
A safety standard called CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-47:20 covers the specifications and rules for industrial electric boiling pots. The 2001 edition of the standard has been replaced by this third edition, which is an adoption of IEC Standard 60335-2-47. This standard's goal is to guarantee the security of commercial boiling pans that are electrically powered and utilized in a variety of commercial contexts, including restaurants, hospitals, bakeries, and butcher shops.
The specification covers electric boiling pans with a maximum rated voltage of 480 V for other appliances and not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances. It also applies to appliances that use other energy sources besides electricity. The standard intends to address typical dangers connected with this equipment and offers recommendations to reduce such risks.
It should be noted that additional specifications might be required for appliances used in automobiles, ships, or airplanes, as well as for appliances governed by certain rules set forth by health authorities, labor protection agencies, and water supply authorities in various nations. Appliances made specifically for industrial use or those used in environments with unique characteristics, including corrosive or explosive atmospheres, are exempt from the standard's requirements. Food appliances that are continuously mass produced are likewise not covered by this standard.
