Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-39: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Multi-Purpose Cooking Pans
Also Known As:
The Canadian government adopted the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 60335-2-39 as CSA C22.2 No. 60335-2-39:20. This standard replaces a different standard's criteria for commercial electric multi-purpose frying pans and supersedes earlier iterations.
Electrically operated commercial multipurpose cooking pans that are not made for home usage or other similar applications are covered by the standard. It covers devices with rated voltages up to 480 V for other devices and 250 V for single-phase devices. Appliances with pressurized components and appliances with pressurized parts are also covered by the standard.
In business settings including restaurants, canteens, hospitals, bakeries, and butcheries, these appliances are frequently used. The guideline also applies to appliances that use energy sources other than electricity.
The standard addresses common risks related to these kinds of appliances, but it is possible that additional requirements are needed for appliances used in vehicles, ships, aircraft, or in nations that have their own health and safety laws as well as labor and water supply regulations.
Appliances made specifically for industrial use, those used in environments with corrosive or explosive atmospheres, those used to produce food in large quantities continuously, and deep fryers are exempt from this specification (IEC 60335-2-37).
