Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use - Part 2-8: Particular Requirements for Electrically Operated Water Valves, Including Mechanical Requirements
Also Known As:
CAN/CSA-E60730-2-8:17 is a specification for automatic electrical controls used in homes and other settings, concentrating on electrically driven water valves. This standard specifies specifications for the mechanical and electrical components of water valves as well as how they are supposed to function. It applies to appliances used in homes as well as to heating, cooling, and related systems. Additionally covered by the standard are electrically driven water valves used in IEC 60335-compliant products.
The scope of this standard has some restrictions. Electrically controlled water valves with nominal connection sizes greater than DN 50 or permissible nominal pressure ratings greater than 1.6 MPa are exempt from this rule. Food dispensers, detergent dispensers, steam valves, and valves made solely for industrial applications are also excluded. To enable clear comprehension, definitions for words like "valve," "actuator," "valve body," and "equipment" are provided throughout the standard.
The standard provides normative references for the following topics: pipe threads, carbon steel tubes, structural steels, pipe connections, stainless steel fittings, and electrical plug connectors for fluid power systems.
