Standard EN SamplePortable Type Gas Camp Heaters
Also Known As:
The fourth edition of the portable gas camp heater standard is CSA/ANSI Z21.63:19/CSA 11.3:19. It replaces earlier versions and was created in accordance with National Standards of Canada requirements set forth by the Standards Council of Canada. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has also given this standard approval as an American National Standard.
The scope of this standard includes propane, butane, and liquefied petroleum gas mixtures used in unvented portable gas camp heaters of the catalytic and infrared types, with a maximum input of 12,000 Btu/hr (3,517 w), and designed for outdoor usage. It includes both regulated and unregulated pressure heaters.
It is crucial to remember that heaters and components that deviate from this standard's precise specifications may be checked and tested for equivalentity. However, this requirement only applies to heaters made entirely of brand-new, unused components.
The requirement in the standard also states that all accessories suggested by the manufacturer for use with the appliances must be included. It also includes pertinent measures and similar values that make use of other units and sources.
Last but not least, Clause 2 of this standard includes a list of publications specifically cited in this standard, along with sources to access these standards. Annex A of this standard contains clauses particular to Canada. The yard or pound quantities are also given their SI (Metric) counterparts, allowing the standard to be applied to SI (Metric) units.
