Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part 2: Particular Requirements for Spray Extraction Appliances, for Industrial and Commercial Use
Also Known As:
The electrical attachments that employ water-based cleaning chemicals and portable electrical motor-operated spray extraction appliances are covered by the CAN/CSA-E335-2-68-94 standard. This standard was created with industrial and commercial use in mind, thus it can be used in settings like hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, retail stores, offices, and rental companies.
Appliances with or without electrical heating components and with or without attachments are covered by the standard. It applies to appliances where the cleaning agent's pressure is positive and does not exceed 25 bars, or where the sum of the cleaning agent's pressure and flow rate is not greater than 1,000. The cleaning agent's temperature at the spray nozzle outlet shouldn't be more than 85°C.
The guideline, however, does not take into account the unique dangers that exist in settings like nurseries or where small children, elderly people, or infirm people are left unattended. Additional requirements might be required in these circumstances. The standard does not apply to appliances that are only made for domestic use, the handling of hazardous chemicals, or the use in environments with unique requirements, such as corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
There may be additional restrictions for appliances meant for usage in cars, ships, aircraft, or tropical regions. It is vital to keep in mind that various nations might have their own unique additional standards that have been established by national health authorities and agencies in charge of labor protection.
