Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and Similar Use - Part 1: General Requirements
Also Known As:
A standard called CAN/CSA-E730-1/2E-95 (R2000) is applicable to automatic electrical controls used in home appliances and other related devices. The standard provides controls for many different applications, such as heating, cooling, and other things. The machinery may use a variety of energy sources, including electricity, gas, oil, etc.
The standard focuses on the equipment's controls, operating values, running periods, and operating sequences in order to ensure its safety. It also covers the specifications for controllers that make use of NTC or PTC thermistors. The standard is applicable to machinery made to be installed and utilized in accordance with Part I of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
It is significant to remember that the standard does not cover controls or applications solely intended for industrial use. It does, however, cover controls used in machinery aimed at the general public, such as those found in stores, light industries, and farms. The standard also covers controls that incorporate electrical components and react to variables like temperature, pressure, time, humidity, and more.
Aside from initiating relays, manual controls, controls with precise voltage and current ratings, and controls with electronic devices, the standard also contains allowances for all of these things. The standard also includes variances from Canada.
