Energy Efficiency of Oil-Fired Storage Tank Water Heaters
Also Known As:
For these kinds of water heaters, the technique for calculating the energy factor is specified in the CAN/CSA-B211-00 (R2015) standard. For oil-fired storage tank water heaters with particular input ratings and storage capacities, it defines minimum energy efficiency levels.
The standard is applicable to water heaters with a stated storage capacity of 190 L (50 US gal) or less and an input rating of 107,000 kJ/hr or 30.5 kW (0.75 USGPH) or less.
It is crucial to keep in mind that the tests carried out in accordance with this standard may not accurately represent the actual efficiency attained in real-world circumstances. Instead, the assessments act as a standardized way to assess how well various units perform in comparison to one another.
The values in parenthesis are given for informational purposes and are written in parentheses after each SI unit in the standard. The US Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Energy publication, Title 10, Part 430, Subpart B, Appendix E, contains US Customary Units, from which the SI values are obtained.
