Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part 2: Particular Requirements for Commercial Electric Grillers and Toasters
Also Known As:
Commercial electric grillers, toasters, and other similar appliances used in a business setting must adhere to the safety standards outlined in the CAN/CSA-E335-2-48-94 standard.
The standard covers commercial appliances that run on electricity, including toasters, grills, and radiant-heat models like rotisseries and salamanders. Assuming the impact of non-electrical components on electrical components, it also includes gadgets that use other sources of energy.
The rule does not, however, apply to griddles and griddle grills that cook by direct contact with food, industrial grillers and toasters used for mass food production, or continuous-process grillers and toasters. Additionally, it excludes appliances designed for use in environments with unique circumstances, such as corrosive or explosive atmospheres.
Appliances intended for use outdoors, in cars, on ships or aircraft, or in tropical regions may need to meet additional standards. It is crucial to keep in mind that national authorities in charge of health, water supply, and labor protection may have extra criteria that are listed in their particular countries.
