SKU111874484 Published by Deutsches Institut für Normung DIN Publication Date2021-02 Pages CountPages30

The safety standards and testing procedures for child harnesses and reins are outlined in the DIN EN 13210-1 standard. These items are made to be used in conjunction with authorized attachment points in child use and care articles to provide a way to restrain children, often from birth up to 48 months of age, while they are walking.

Although they are addressed in Part 2 of the standard, leading-rein-equipped backpacks are expressly excluded from this standard. Additionally, the standard does not apply to restraint systems used in motorized or power-driven vehicles, those designed for children with special needs, or those that are permanently incorporated into child use and care items.
