The DIN EN 15220 is a standard that specifies the requirements for brake indicators used in railway applications. The standard covers the design, performance, and testing of single, double, and multiple brake indicators that are visible from outside the vehicle. It applies to both pneumatic and electrically operated brake indicators and is applicable to railway vehicles on national networks, urban networks, underground railways, trams, and private networks. However, it should be noted that this standard does not apply to brake indicators for magnetic track brakes or eddy current brakes.
