Free Access Multi-Sports Equipment - Requirements, Including Safety and Test Methods
Also Known As:
Free-access multi-sports equipment, as well as combinations of such equipment that are meant for permanent installation, must adhere to the DIN EN 15312 standard. It covers a variety of sports, including volleyball, badminton, basketball, football, handball, and table tennis. The standard outlines specifications for the equipment's installation, inspection, and maintenance, as well as for its safety in general.
The requirement specifically covers multi-sports gear that is intended for use in public areas by kids and teenagers. However, extremely young children under the age of 36 months should not use it. It's vital to remember that the multi-sports equipment surrounding the playground, roller sports equipment, fitness trails, artificial climbing structures, beach equipment, and ground surfaces are not covered by this standard.
The standard does not specify any additional requirements other than those for disabled users' access and egress.
