Alpine Ski Boots with Improved Walking Soles - Interface with Alpine Ski-Bindings - Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
The requirements and methods for testing ski boots used in conjunction with alpine ski bindings are described in the DIN ISO 23223 standard. The standard especially focuses on ski boots with improved walking soles that increase the boot's walkability without compromising the operation of the ski binding made for such soles.
Ski-binding systems that operate regardless of sole shape or have differing specifications for sole dimensions are exempt from the standard's requirement that ski boots have better walking soles. However, there is a greater level of safety when this International Standard is followed. Ski boots with a size of 15.0 and above that are classified as Types A (for adults) or C (for children) according to the Mondo point system are included in the scope of the standard.
