Diving Suits - Part 1: Wet Suits - Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
The requirements and testing methods for wet suits used by divers during underwater operations where they breathe underwater are described in the DIN EN 14225-1 standard. The standard covers the design and functionality of wet suits, particularly their thermal properties. Additionally, it details the labeling, information, and marks that must be shown at the point of sale, as well as usage instructions.
The standard does not include items like separate accessories like gloves, hoods, boots, short-sleeved coats, short-leg pants, and under and overgarments. It also makes it clear that suits and shorties worn for snorkeling and other underwater activities without the use of breathing apparatus are not included in the standard's scope. To further guarantee that the wet suits comply with the standards, the standard also includes laboratory tests and practical performance tests.
