Light and Lighting - Sports Lighting
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 12193 standard offers recommendations and requirements for the illumination of both indoor and outdoor sporting events that are regularly held in Europe. The standard only addresses artificial lighting and provides lighting values that ought to be applied when planning and managing sports lighting installations. Illuminances, homogeneity, glare restriction, and the color characteristics of the light sources are all included in these parameters. It's crucial to remember that the standard considers these numbers to be a minimum necessity.
The DIN EN 12193 standard also specifies how to measure the lighting parameters previously specified. In order to reduce glare, it also addresses the issue of glare and puts limitations on the placement of luminaires for particular uses. The standard makes reference to EN 1838's standards for emergency lighting.
