Outdoor Furniture - Seating and Tables for Camping, Domestic and Contract Use - Part 2: Mechanical Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Seating
Also Known As:
The mechanical safety criteria and test procedures for sitting in outdoor furniture, specifically for camping and residential usage as well as contract use in diverse situations, are the main emphasis of the DIN EN 581-2 standard. Without taking into account the materials used, design or construction techniques, or manufacturing procedures, this standard attempts to verify that the outdoor seating meets the minimal safety, strength, and durability standards.
It is significant to note that this standard does not cover removable upholstery and coverings, street furniture, or other similar items. Additionally, it excludes specifications for electrical safety, resistance to aging and deterioration brought on by light, temperature, and moisture, as well as standards for the longevity of castors and wheels and height-adjustment mechanisms.
To ensure that the outdoor seating is capable of properly supporting people of different weights and sizes, the test requirements outlined in this standard were created for individuals weighing up to 110 kg.
