The goal of the DIN EN 13814-2 standard is to guarantee user and operational safety for amusement rides and other entertainment equipment. In order to ensure the reliability and security of these rides and devices when they are placed regularly or temporarily in fairgrounds, amusement parks, or other sites, it lays forth the minimal requirements that must be met.
Grandstands, scaffolding, basic coin-operated children's amusement equipment, and recreational equipment like waterslides or summer toboggan runs are excluded. Additionally, it specifies that workers' health and safety should be protected in accordance with national legislation.
