Child Use and Care Articles - Baby Carriers - Safety and Test Methods - Part 2: Soft Carrier
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13209-2 standard specifies the safety criteria and testing procedures for soft carriers used to transport children. Soft carriers are carriers without structural support that are intended to be fastened to the torso of the caregiver.
The standard is applicable to soft carriers that let a caregiver operate with their hands free while standing or moving around. It states that youngsters up to a maximum weight of 15 kg may use these carriers. Referral should be made to other pertinent European standards if the soft carrier has additional functions that aren't addressed by this standard.
By establishing specifications and test procedures that assure their use and suitability for child transportation, this standard aims to ensure the safety and quality of soft carriers.
