The specifications for multi-sport floor systems used in indoor sport halls and gymnasiums are outlined in the DIN EN 14904-2 standard. It emphasizes certain sports like handball, small-sided football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and small-sided football; however, physical education is also seen as having a multisport application.
This standard covers extra requirements not covered in Part 1 of the same standard, complementing it. The primary requirements for multi-sport floor systems in indoor sport halls and gymnasiums are covered in Part 1 of the standard and are outlined in Regulation EU No. 305/2011. However, indoor synthetic turf and textile surfaces are not covered by this standard.
