Safety of Toys - Part 13: Olfactory Board Games, Cosmetic Kits and Gustative Games
Also Known As:
The safety of olfactory board games, cosmetic kits, gustatory games, and supplemental sets is the main subject of the DIN EN 71-13 standard. The standard establishes rules for substances and combinations used in these items, including those that are deemed hazardous by EC legislation, compounds that may be harmful to children's health if used in excess, and any other chemical substances or mixtures that are part of the sets.
The standard also outlines branding criteria, the inclusion of a contents list and usage instructions, and safety specifications for equipment used during the activity, in addition to prohibiting allergenic scents in toys. The use of highly flammable liquids is also covered.
It's crucial to remember that this requirement does not apply to cosmetic toys, such as play cosmetics for dolls.
