Cookware - Pressure Cookers for Domestic Use
Also Known As:
For pressure cookers, the DIN EN 12778 standard offers a thorough set of recommendations and specifications. The standard covers a wide range of topics, such as language, production methods, safety considerations, and functionality specifications. The standard also specifies particular tests that must be performed to guarantee adherence to safety rules.
Pressure cookers made for residential use are the only ones covered by the standard. These cookers have a maximum gross volume of 25 liters and are portable. Their operating pressure must be greater than 4 kPa and lower than 150 kPa. Pressure cookers with both integrated and separate heating systems must adhere to the specification.
In order to assure consumer safety and knowledge, the standard also specifies marking, labeling, and notification requirements for pressure cookers.
