Household refrigerating appliances - Characteristics and test methods - Part 1: General requirements
Also Known As:
The main properties of home refrigeration equipment are laid forth in the standard IEC 62552-1:2015+A1:2020, together with test procedures for determining these characteristics. It outlines the specifications for appliances that use forced air circulation or internal natural convection to cool food. The tests outlined in this standard are regarded as type tests that evaluate the underlying structure and functionality of a refrigeration device. It's crucial to remember that this standard does not outline the specifications for production sampling, conformity assessment, or certification.
In order to achieve accurate performance assessment, the standard highlights the value of verification testing and advises that, if practical, all the prescribed tests should be applied to a single unit. Individual tests, however, can also be used to investigate particular features. Furthermore, it should be noted that IEC 62552-1, -2, and -3, which replace and supersede the IEC 62552 first edition released in 2007, represent a technical modification. These changes were made to take into consideration brand-new testing specifications, product variations, and technological developments in electronic controls and test-room data collection tools.
It is not necessary to order the amendment individually because the first edition (2015) and its amendment 1 (2020) are combined in this version of IEC 62552-1:2015+A1:2020.
