Electric Dishwashers for Commercial Use - Test Methods for Measuring the Performance
Also Known As:
IEC 63136:2019 is a standard that relates exclusively to commercial electric dishwashers. These dishwashers are manually loaded and can be either under-counter, one-tank, or hood-type dishwashers. They are intended for cleaning plates, dishes, glassware, silverware, and other such items. These pieces of equipment are often used in commercial kitchens such as restaurants, canteens, hospitals, bakeries, and butcher shops.
This standard does not apply to commercial dishwashers with transport systems (such as flight-type and rack conveyor dishwashers) or utensil washers. Furthermore, undercounter water-change dishwashers and appliances built solely for industrial use are not covered by this standard.
The primary goal of IEC 63136:2019 is to define and specify the key performance criteria of commercial electric dishwashers. The standard specifies the techniques for assessing these qualities, with an emphasis on dishwasher performance when washing plates. It is stressed, however, that this document does not contain safety or minimum performance standards.
The contents of the corrigendum released in March 2021 are included in this revision of the standard.
