Household electric cooking appliances - Part 2: Hobs - Methods for measuring performance
Also Known As:
A standard called IEC 60350-2:2017+A1:2021 describes how to gauge the efficiency of electric hobs used in home cooking appliances. Both built-in hobs and hobs intended to be set up on a work surface or as a component of a cooking range are covered by this standard. However, it excludes portable grilling and cooking gadgets from its coverage.
The standard outlines the primary user-interesting hob performance criteria and offers instructions for measuring each one. No classification or ranking of performance is given. The most recent version of this standard includes a number of technical changes, such as updated measurement procedures for energy consumption, control accuracy, heat distribution, and low-power modes. It also includes requirements for flexible and free induction zones (also known as cooking areas), specifications for standard and alternative cookware, and new definitions.
