Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-7: Particular Requirements for Washing Machines
Also Known As:
A standard known as IEC 60335-2-7:2008+A1:2011 focuses especially on the safety standards for domestic and similar electrical washing machines. It covers washing machines with a rated voltage of up to 480 volts for other appliances and 250 volts for single-phase appliances that are made for washing garments and fabrics.
Additional requirements are included in this standard for washing machines that employ an electrolyte in place of detergent. In Annex CC, these requirements are described. It is crucial to remember that IEC 60335-1:2010, which outlines general safety criteria for home appliances and other comparable electrical devices, should be read in combination with this standard.
The seventh edition (2008) and its amendment 1 (2011) are both included in the consolidated version of this standard. As a result, it is unnecessary to order the amendment separately. The contents of the September 2012 corrigendum have also been integrated into this version of the standard. This guarantees that washing machine makers and users have access to the most recent information to protect their safety.
