Amendment 1 - Household microwave ovens - Methods for measuring performance
Also Known As:
The IEC 60705:2010/AMD1:2014 standard has undergone major technical modifications as a result of the amendment. First off, the term "usable volume" has been changed to "calculated volume," and the calculation method has been updated to comply with IEC 60350-1.
Additionally, this amendment adds new definitions for a number of terms, including cooling down period, food support, standby mode, off mode, combined microwave function, and microwave function. The standard is made clear and consistent by these definitions.
Additionally, Clause 14 of the amendment has a measurement technique for the energy consumption of the microwave function, providing an accurate measurement of energy usage. Table 2 provides more detailed specifications for equipment and measurements, improving test reliability and consistency.
Furthermore, Clause 15 adds new product-specific specifications for measuring the energy usage of low power modes, guaranteeing a thorough measurement of energy usage across all operating conditions.
The method for evaluating the energy usage during the cooling-down time is provided in Annex F (informative). This helpful annex provides additional instructions for carrying out energy consumption measurements.
