Household refrigerating appliances - Characteristics and test methods - Part 1: General requirements
Also Known As:
IEC 62552-1:2015 is a standard that outlines the key traits and evaluation procedures for home refrigeration equipment. The standard focuses on appliances that use forced air circulation or internal natural convection to cool themselves. It creates type tests to evaluate the basic structure and functionality of these gadgets.
This standard does not specify the needs for production sampling, conformance testing, or certification, which is a crucial point to remember. Additionally, it doesn't provide a verification testing regime because this can differ by location and nation. However, it is advised that all specified tests be performed on a single device where verification of the appliance's performance in relation to this standard is required.
The first edition of IEC 62552, which was released in 2007, is replaced by IEC 62552-1 and its related standards, IEC 62552-2 and IEC 62552-3. To accommodate new testing requirements, product combinations, and improvements in electronic controls and test-room equipment, these new editions incorporate sizable technical changes. Changes to the setup and specifications of the test room equipment are expressly made in Part 1 of the standard to provide for additional flexibility, particularly when testing several appliances at once.
