Also Known As:
Focusing on the safety criteria for electric tumble dryers used in homes and other similar contexts, the IEC 60335-2-11:2008+A1:2012 standard The standard applies to tumble dryers with a maximum rated voltage of 480 V for other appliances and 250 V for single-phase appliances. The safety of tumble dryers that use a refrigeration system with sealed motor-compressors and the safety features of the drying function in washing machines with a drying cycle are also covered. These gadgets might use refrigerants that are flammable.
The wording of this standard has been linked with IEC 60335-1, Edition 4, and its Amendments 1 and 2 in its most recent edition, which is the seventh edition with Amendment 1. Additionally, some notes from the previous edition—specifically sections 7.101, 11.8, 20.102, and 20.103—have been transformed into normative text. There is no need to order the amendment separately because this consolidated version includes both the seventh edition (2008) and Amendment 1 (2012).
