IEC 60705:2010 is a standard that focuses exclusively on home microwave ovens and offers techniques for evaluating their effectiveness. Both standalone and combo microwave ovens are covered by this rule. This standard's objectives are to describe the essential performance traits that matter to customers and to create methods for assessing and measuring those traits.
The 1999, 2004, and 2006 editions of the standard have been replaced by this fourth edition. It introduces various updates and a technical revision. Notably, it introduces a precise definition of rounding in section 3.5 and specifies distinct approaches for figuring out the total volume and the useable volume, respectively, in parts 7.2 and 7.3.
