The specific requirements for automatic electrical air flow, water flow, and water level sensing controllers are laid out in the standard IEC 60730-2-15:2008. These controls are designed to be used in domestic and related applications, such as air conditioners, boilers, and heating systems. These controllers can withstand pressures of up to 2,000 kPA (20 bar).
The first edition, which was released in 1994, and any later revisions are superseded by this second edition of the standard. Additionally, it combines IEC 60725-2-15, IEC 60730-2-16, and IEC 60730-2-18, three additional standards. To include the new issues covered, the standard's title and scope have been updated.
