Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-11: Particular Requirements for Tumble Dryers
Also Known As:
A standard called IEC 60335-2-11:2008+A1:2012+A2:2015 focuses on the security requirements for tumble dryers used in homes and other settings. It applies to tumble dryers rated at 480 V for other appliances and up to 250 V for single-phase appliances. This standard also addresses the safety of tumble dryers that employ a refrigeration system with sealed motor-compressors as well as the drying function of washing machines that feature a drying cycle. These gadgets might use refrigerants that are flammable.
This standard's seventh edition and its amendments 1 and 2 from 2012 and 2015 align the language with IEC 60335-1, Ed. 4, and those amendments. To ensure greater clarity and uniformity, several notes have been transformed into normative text. There is no need to order any modifications because this consolidated version already incorporates all the updates.
This standard should be used in conjunction with IEC 60335-1:2010, which describes the general safety criteria for home appliances and other electrical devices of a similar nature. These standards work together to guarantee that tumble dryers adhere to the necessary safety requirements for consumer usage.
