Automatic Electrical Controls - Part 2-5: Particular Requirements for Automatic Electrical Burner Control Systems
Also Known As:
A standard known as IEC 60730-2-5:2013+AMD1:2017 details the specific specifications for automatic electrical burner control systems used in residential and related applications. It applies to systems operating burners for heating, air conditioning, or other combustibles that use oil, gas, coal, or other combustibles. The complete burner control systems, programming modules, electronic high-voltage ignition sources, and flame detectors are all covered by the standard. It does not, however, cover standalone igniting systems or thermoelectric flame supervision systems.
The focus of the standard is on burner safety-related operational parameters, operating times, and operating procedures. It also specifies how these systems must be tested. The fourth version of IEC 60730-1 (2010) served as the foundation for the standard, and any upcoming revisions or updates to that publication may be taken into account. IEC 60730-2-5's title has been revised to be consistent with IEC 60730-1, but the technical specifications have not. Therefore, the first edition (2013) and its first amendment (2017) are included in this condensed version. It is crucial to read this document alongside IEC 60730-1:2013. Burner control and automated control are two important terms related to this standard.
