Household refrigerating appliances - Characteristics and test methods
Also Known As:
The IEC 62552:2007 standard applies to domestic refrigerators. It specifies the basic features that these appliances should have and gives test techniques for determining these features. The standard applies to factory-assembled refrigerators that are cooled by either internal natural convection or forced air circulation.
The tests defined in the standard are type tests, which means they are carried out on a single unit of a specific kind. This enables the verification of a given refrigerating appliance's performance in relation to the standard. When practical, it is suggested that all of the prescribed tests be performed on a single unit. Individual tests, on the other hand, might be undertaken to investigate a specific feature of the device.
Furthermore, the copy of the standard includes the text of the March 2008 corrigendum, ensuring that any necessary adjustments or updates are incorporated.
