Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-9: Particular requirements for grills, toasters and similar portable cooking appliances
Also Known As:
The goal of the IEC 60335-2-9:2008+A1:2012 standard is to ensure the security of home appliances with a cooking function, including toasters, grills, and portable cooking appliances. Appliances with a rated voltage of up to 250 V must adhere to the specification. This standard covers a variety of appliances, including indoor barbecues, breadmakers, contact grills, hotplates, and waffle irons.
To ensure uniformity among related standards, the standard has undergone modifications to align its content with the fourth edition of IEC 60335-1 and its amendments. This edition's addition of pop-corn makers' requirements is noteworthy. Additionally, the standard defines the phrase "household and similar purposes."
The sixth edition (2008) and its amendment 1 (2012) are both included in this version of the standard, which eliminates the need to order the amendment individually. The IEC 60335-1:2010 standard, which outlines the overall safety criteria for home appliances and similar devices, should be read in conjunction with the IEC 60335-2-9 standard.
