Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety - Part 2-102: Particular Requirements for Gas, Oil and Solid-Fuel Burning Appliances Having Electrical Connections
Also Known As:
The safety criteria for gas, oil, and solid-fuel-burning appliances that include electrical connections and are intended for use in homes and other similar settings are the main subject of the IEC 60335-2-102:2004+A1:2008+A2:2012 standard. It covers devices with a rated voltage of up to 480 volts for other devices and 250 volts for single-phase devices. The standard covers the safety of these appliances' electrical systems as well as other connected safety issues. It also considers whether the appliance complies with the applicable standard for fuel-burning equipment.
If the device has electric heating sources in addition to electrical connections, it must also adhere to the appropriate Part 2 of IEC 60335. Numerous appliances are covered by this standard, including water heaters, commercial catering equipment, culinary appliances, laundry and cleaning equipment, room heaters, warm air heaters, and central heating boilers.
The first edition (2004) and amendments 1 and 2 are all included in this condensed version of the standard. Therefore, it is unnecessary to place a second order for changes. This document should be studied in connection with IEC 60335-1:2010, which outlines general safety specifications for home appliances and other related electrical devices.
