Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety - Part 2-48: Particular requirements for commercial electric grillers and toasters
Also Known As:
The safety requirements for electrically driven commercial grillers and toasters that are not intended for household use are the main emphasis of the IEC 60335-2-48:2002+AMD1:2008 CSV standard. The standard covers appliances with a rated voltage of up to 480 V for other appliances and 250 V for single-phase appliances linked between one phase and neutral.
This standard covers toasters, rotisseries, salamanders, and other similar appliances used for grilling by radiant heat, such as rotational or continuous grillers. This standard is intended for usage in places like restaurants, canteens, medical facilities, bakeries, butcheries, and other commercial enterprises where these appliances are frequently utilized.
The standard also includes coverage for the electrical parts of appliances that use alternative types of energy. The fourth edition from 2002 and its amendment 1 from 2008 are both included in this condensed version, negating the need to order the amendment individually.
