Standard EN SampleMachine-made textile floor coverings - Determination of dimensional changes after exposure to heat and/or water
Also Known As:
In accordance with ISO 17984:2014, processes are given for figuring out how machine-made textile floor coverings change in dimension when exposed to heat, water, or both.
Four techniques are included in the standard for measuring dimensional changes: Method 1 focuses on the changes brought on by heat exposure; Method 2 measures the changes brought on by water immersion; Method 3 calculates the changes brought on by various heat and water conditions; and Method 4 explicitly tackles dimensional changes that take place outside of the plane.
These techniques can be used to create any kind of machine-made textile floor covering, including those manufactured into tiles.
The ISO 17984:2014 standard promotes consistency and accuracy in assessing the performance and quality of these floor coverings when exposed to heat and water by providing defined methodologies for measuring dimensional changes in machine-made textile floor coverings.
