The standard ISO 4211-3:2013 describes a procedure for determining how well furniture surfaces withstand dry heat. Regardless of the materials used, the standard is applicable to all forms of rigid furniture surfaces. However, it expressly leaves out of its purview surfaces made of leather and cloth. With the use of this standard, furniture surfaces' ability to tolerate dry heat without suffering any negative consequences can be evaluated in a uniform and trustworthy manner.
