Domestic Gas Cooking Appliances - Safety - Part 1: General Requirements
Also Known As:
ISO/TS 21364-1:2021 is a standard that specifies the main safety standards for household gas cooking appliances. This standard relates to many types of gas cooking equipment intended for indoor usage, including freestanding, built-in, and table-top variants. The gas sections of appliances and their component pieces, such as combined gas-electric cooking equipment, are the focus of this standard.
It is crucial to remember, however, that this standard does not cover all areas. It does not apply to electrically heated elements, outdoor appliances, appliances supplied at pressures greater than the maximum test gas pressure, or cook stoves that are covered by other particular standards. Furthermore, the guideline does not account for youngsters playing with the appliances.
The standard underlines that for electrical safety standards, the IEC 60335 standard series should be used. It also emphasizes that additional criteria may be required for appliances used in automobiles, ships, or aircraft. Furthermore, it notes that other countries' national health agencies, water supply authorities, and comparable bodies may have extra-defined standards.
Finally, it should be noted that this standard does not cover gas cylinders, pressure regulators, and connections, as well as gas installation requirements.
