Alpine Ski-Boots - Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
ISO 5355:2019 is a standard that specifies the specifications and testing methods for alpine ski boots. This standard focuses mainly on ski boots used with current systems of alpine ski bindings that attach to the boot toe and heel. The dimensions and design of the interfaces provided by the ski boots determine the proper release function of these bindings.
It is crucial to note that compliance with ISO 5355:2019 may not be required to ensure the requisite degree of safety for ski-binding systems that are independent of sole shape or have different requirements for sole dimensions.
This standard applies to adult (type A) and children's (type C) ski boots in the Mondopoint sizing system, beginning with sizes 15.0 and larger. Annex A of the publication contains more information about the Mondopoint system.
