The ISO 31110:2020 standard specifies the safety standards and testing procedures for pushchairs and prams used to transport children under the age of three. Toys, sports pushchairs, motorized conveyances, and those designed for children with special needs are not covered by the standard.
The standard recognizes the possibility of pushchairs or prams with numerous purposes or that can be changed into other shapes. Other appropriate norms may apply in such instances.
The guideline includes an important comment that the typical weight of a three-year-old child is assessed to be 15 kg. This provides manufacturers and consumers with information when determining the weight support and capability of a pushchair or pram.
