It should be emphasized that this guideline does not apply to food service cabinets, refrigerated vending machines, or cabinets used in catering and other non-retail settings.

Part 7 of the standard's particular scope outlines the process for putting refrigerated display cabinets' defrosting methods to the test under the same conditions as those for the temperature test in AS 1731.5. This means that it does not apply to cabinets or parts of cabinets that are meant to be manually defrosted and instead concentrates on analyzing the defrosting procedure of these cabinets.
